asked the Minister of Social Security what have been the maximum and minimum weekly unemployment benefits paid to the latest possible date under the wage related benefits scheme.

Seven pounds, and one shilling respectively.

43. Mr. Holland

asked the Minister of Social Security how many man-weeks of wage related unemployment benefit have been paid since the inception of the scheme; and by how much she estimates that the total cost has exceeded what the cost would have been had there been no wage related scheme.

About 9 million weeks and about £27 million respectively.
