Mr. Randall

asked the Minister of Labour if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT a table showing the figures of unemployment in the Northern Region in the years 1952 to 1968, respectively, for March, giving figures for male, female, boys and girls and the percentage of wholly unemployed for each year.

Mr. Fernyhough

Following is the information:

Mr. Hattersley

The available estimates cover agricultural and horticultural workers. During the year ended 31st December 1967, some 4,500 of them were paid about £888,000 under the Redundancy Payments Act.

Mr. Hazell

asked the Minister of Labour what was the number of cases under the Redundancy Payments Act involving agricultural workers which were referred to an industrial tribunal, the number in respect of which a tribunal awarded redundancy payments, and the number in which the application was not accepted by tribunals, respectively.

Mr. Hattersley

I regret the information is not available.
