HC Deb 08 April 1968 vol 762 c197W
Mr. Moyle

asked the Minister of Health how many children suffering from spina bifida reached school age each year as an average over the last five years; and what provision is made for training them.

Mr. Denis Howell

I have been asked to reply.

I regret that this information is not available. Not all children suffering from spina bifida require education in special schools, but in January, 1968 there were 684 such children aged 5–9 in special schools for the physically handicapped (excluding hospital schools).
