§ Mr. EnnalsNo sum is specifically allocated for the purposes mentioned in the Question. Expenditure by local authorities in England and Wales on all civil defence matters for which they will continue to be responsible will be about £.3.2 million in 1968–69. The Exchequer contribution to this sum will be £2.6 million.
