HC Deb 04 April 1968 vol 762 cc132-3W
Mr. Farr

asked the Minister of Transport if she will establish a 30 miles-per-our limit between Bringhurst and Great Easton, in view of the fact that primary school children, who attend the Bringhurst County Primary School, situated between these two villages, have no proper footpath to walk upon and have to use the main road.

Mr. Carmichael

The imposition of a speed limit on this length of road would be, in the first instance, the responsibility of the Leicestershire County Council. I understand that the Council intend formally to seek consent to a limit, and my right hon. Friend will, of course, carefully consider their proposals.

With respect to the last part of the Question, I understand that a continuous footpath has recently been provided on the south side of the road from Great Easton to Bringhurst.
