§ Sir C. Osborneasked the Minister of Power if he is aware that British steel shipbuilding plates are sold overseas for £35 a ton and at the same time a price of £42 a ton is imposed on the home market; from what funds this subsidy of £7 a ton to foreign shipbuilders is paid; and if he will issue a direction to the Steel Corporation to stop this policy which handicaps British shipbuilding firms, and worsens the balance of payments problem.
