asked the Minister of Technology if he will state the number and value of contracts his Department has placed with electronic firms in the North East.

Mr. Fowler

The number of contracts placed with member firms of the Electronics Association of the North East and which are not yet completed is thirty-one and their aggregate value is approximately £470,000.
