Mr. Baker

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many fires in woodlands, both private plantations and on Forestry Commission lands, were reported in each of the last five years to the nearest convenient date; what was the extent of the damage; what was the estimated loss, to private landowners and the Forestry Commission, respectively, in each year; and how many of the fires resulted in prosecutions.
