asked the Minister of Transport what action her Department will take concerning the collapse of the London and Cheshire Insurance Company; and if she will make a statement.

The situation arising in connection with the London and Cheshire Insurance Company is primarily a matter for my right hon. Friend the President of the Board of Trade. I understand that the company is issuing to policy holders individual notices cancelling their motor policies. When this has been done, we shall warn all licensing authorities not to accept any certificates issued by the company which may be presented with applications for vehicle licences.
