Mr. Peter Archer

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (1) whether the United Kingdom Government have yet ratified the International Labour Organisation Convention number 121, on Employment Injury Benefits; and, if not, what are the reasons for the delay;

(2) whether the United Kingdom have yet ratified the International Labour Organisation Convention number 103, on Maternity Protection; and, if not, what are the reasons for the delay;

(3) whether the United Kingdom have yet ratified the International Labour Organisation Convention number 118, on Equality of Treatment in Social Security; and, if not, what are the reasons for the delay.

I have been asked to reply. The Government have not ratified Conventions No. 103, No. 118 and No. 121 for the reasons set out respectively in the White Papers Cmd. 9082, Cmnd. 1993 and Cmnd. 2790.
