Mrs. Braddockasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many surface air-raid shelters there are within the boundaries of the Liverpool, Exchange, division; how long it is since they were inspected by his Department; and when was the last time the Liverpool City Council reported on their conditions, and asked for demolition of some of them.
§ Mr. Roy JenkinsThree hundred and sixty. Inspection is a matter for the local authority, who are responsible for maintenance. The last application for demolition of a shelter in this area was made on 3rd October 1966; final approval was given on 6th January.
