§ Mr. J. P. W. MallalieuSuch investigations are primarily a matter for airline operators. With the assistance of the Scottish Office and the Board of Trade a study was made in 1965 and 1966 by the Highland Transport Board of the most suitable type of light fixed wing aircraft for a service to the Northern Isles of Orkney. As a result of this study an air service is to be introduced later this year using the Britten Norman Islander. Comparable helicopter operations would be substantially more costly.
