HC Deb 15 February 1967 vol 741 c110W
84. Mr. George Jeger

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what charge is made to Servicemen in the British Army of the Rhine for their flight home on leave; and what is the total estimated saving since the free travel twice a year was reduced to once only.

Mr. Boyden

The fare charged varies depending on which airfields are used. The average is about £9 return.

Since free travel was reduced to only once a year, the total estimated annual saving is about £85,000 in respect of B.A.O.R. and R.A.F. (Germany).
