asked the Minister of Labour how many places are available in sheltered workshops in Scotland, other than Remploy centres.

There are approximately 1,000 severely disabled persons now employed in sheltered workshops in Scotland other than Remploy.

asked the Minister of Labour what proposals he has for the extension of provision of sheltered workshops in Scotland.

Proposals currently under discussion between our officers and the local authorities and voluntary bodies concerned are designed to provide some 200 further places.
