HC Deb 02 February 1967 vol 740 c145W
Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Minister of Overseas Development how many students who have left University College, Salisbury, Rhodesia, to come to Britain to complete their first degree studies have arrived here to date; what financial assistance was given, and is being given, to them from public funds; how many more such students are expected, and whether university places are being assured for them; and what steps are being taken to ensure adequate financial support for each student so placed.

Mr. Bottomley

18; 17 of these have been placed in universities or similar institutions. Passage costs to Britain have in most cases been met by the British Government and 16 have their fees, maintenance and other allowances wholly covered by British technical assistance awards. One is supported by his parents.

We do nit expect any more.
