§ Mrs. Shirley Williams:The number of students in Great Britain who received awards from public funds in 1965–66 was about 310,000, of whom 1,865 Commonwealth students and 750 non-Commonwealth students were supported under schemes for overseas students. The cost of all these awards was nearly £104 million.
