HC Deb 12 December 1967 vol 756 c77W
Mr. Alison

asked the Minister of Power what is the latest estimate of the capital cost of the Coventry plant for the production of Homefire smokeless fuel, for which he has sanctioned expenditure; and when full production from the plant will be reached.

Mr. Freeson

The latest estimate of the capital cost is £12 million. I am informed by the Board that there is no regular marketable production at present because of technical problems, and that until these problems are overcome it is not possible to say how long it will be until full production is reached. The Board expect however that part of the plant will be in regular production by March, 1968.
