Mr. Hunter

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the expected capital cost per kilowatt of the nuclear station Hunterston A, and the actual cost of the coal-fired station Kincardine.

On Hunterston A I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave him yesterday. The actual capital cost of the coal-fired station at Kincardine was £50 per kilowatt sent out.—[Vol. 756, c. 60.]

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what he estimates to be the effect on the average price paid for electricity by domestic and industrial consumers throughout the South of Scotland Electricity Board area of achieving the forecast savings of cost expected from building the Hunterston B advance gas-cooled reactor power station, by comparison with a coal-fired station of the
