HC Deb 12 December 1967 vol 756 cc116-7W
Mr. Baker

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many reactions to the tuberculin tests for cattle were reported in each county of Scotland in each of the past five years.

Mr. Ross

The information is set out in the table below:

how many prosecutions were brought; and what was the average fine imposed.

Mr. Ross

Since 30th September, 1964, when the Fishery Limits Act 1964 came into force extending the British fishery limits, 14 foreign fishing vessels have been arrested for illegal fishing within the limits off the Scottish coast. All were prosecuted and a conviction was obtained in each case. The fines imposed ranged from £50 to £250, the average being £179, and in six cases the catch and fishing gear were forfeited also.
