HC Deb 12 December 1967 vol 756 c88W
Mr. Alison

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer for what total sums loans from the Export-Import Bank have been arranged for the purchase by the United Kingdom of military equipment; over what period, and in what instalments, these loans will be repaid; and how these transactions will be recorded in the official balance of payments statistics.

Mr. Roy Jenkins

There are four credit Agreements with the Export-Import Bank, for a total of $847 million, under our arrangements with the United States Government for the purchase of United States military aircraft. Each Agreement provides for repayment in fourteen half-yearly instalments. A detailed explanation of how the transactions will be recorded in the official balance of payments statistics was given in "Economic Trends" of June, 1967.
