HC Deb 11 December 1967 vol 756 cc19-20W
78. Sir C. Mott-Radelyffe

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether a guarantee has been obtained from the National Liberation Front in South Yemen that on the formation of a Government they will discharge the normal responsibilities in respect of the salaries and full pension rights of such former employees of the Federal Govern- ment and the Colonial Government in Aden who have volunteered to serve the new Administration when it comes into being.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

In view of the shortage of time it was not possible to deal with the question of the public service during the negotiations in Geneva. It was however agreed then that discussions on this subject should take place between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of the People's Republic of Southern Yemen at an early date after independence.
