§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (1) how and through which agencies he conducted his recent investigation into the wishes of the people of the Kuria Muria Islands in order to ascertain that they prefer to make their future with Muscat and Oman, rather than with the South Yemen Republic;
(2) if he will publish the statistical results of his recent investigation into the wishes of the people of Kuria Muria to join Muscat and Oman.
§ Mr. Goronwy RobertsConsultations were conducted by an Arabic speaking member of the Aden High Commission staff who visited the Kuria Muria Islands on 28th and 29th October. There were 78 inhabitants divided into five families. Their wish to revert to the Sultan of Mucat and Oman was expressed as unanimous.
