asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the final result of action the Government has taken to prevent the Rhodesian banknotes printed in Germany being sent to Rhodesia; and what has been the total cost of this operation.

In accordance with the terms of the settlement of the action, the banknotes will not be delivered to Southern Rhodesia except on the directions of the Reserve Bank of Rhodesia. No significant charge on public funds has been involved.
