HC Deb 21 November 1966 vol 736 c216W
58. Mr. R. C. Mitchell

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware of the difficulties caused by the shortage of geriatric beds in hospitals in Southampton; and what action he proposes to take to overcome this problem.

Mr. Loughlin

Yes. The Wessex Regional Hospital Board plan to use some existing acute beds for geriatrics when new acute beds are provided at the Southampton General Hospital. In addition a psycho-geriatric assessment unit will be opened at Moorgreen Hospital next year and a geriatric day hospital in 1968.
