§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why figures are not readily available in his Department to show to what extent Government expenditure on entertainment at home and abroad has increased or decreased during the past two years; and whether he will publish whatever figures are available for any stated period of time.
§ Mr. MacDermotBecause this expenditure is controlled under a number of headings for each different Department it is not necessary for the purposes of the Treasury to collate it as a separate item.
