Mr. Powell

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is his latest estimate of the value to Great Britain of the Saudi Arabian deal for the purposes of the offset agreement with the United States of America; and whether that estimate has been agreed by the United States Government.

Mr. Healey

As I informed the right hon. Gentleman on 20th May, 1966, we estimate the value of the Saudi Arabian deal for this purpose to be about $275 million. No discussions have yet been held with the United States Government on the progress towards the $400 million target for co-operative sales.—[Vol. 728, c. 314.]
