asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs what is the present establishment, actual and authorised, of the Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Council in Leeds; and what is the present number of rooms occupied as offices or for conference by the Council.

The Yorkshire and Humberside Economic Planning Council is an advisory body and consists of thirty persons appointed from outside the Civil Service. The Council and its sub-committees meet in conference rooms in City House shared with Government Departments.

The Council has a common secretariat with the Yorkshire and Humberside Economic Planning Board. The Chairman of the Board and his staff number 14 and they occupy 10 rooms in City House. There are vacancies for one Senior Research Officer and two typists.
