§ 63. Sir C. Osborne
asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, in view of the opposition among many trades unions to the voluntary implementation of the incomes part of the prices and incomes policy, if he will now introduce legislation to make that part enforceable by law; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Albu
The Government's prices and incomes policy as set out in Cmnd. 2639 has the active support of the Trades Union Congress and numerous union conferences held recently have confirmed their support.
My right hon. Friend will shortly be introducing legislation designed to strengthen the application of the voluntary policy for both prices and incomes and to make it more effective.
