§ 50. Mr. Peytonasked the Minister of Power if he is satisfied with the supplies of smokeless fuel, and, in particular, the new fuels developed by the National Coal Board; and if he will make a statement.
§ Dr. BraySupplies of smokeless fuel are in total more than adequate.
The National Coal Board has constructed plants at Cardiff, Coventry and Markham Main for the production of new smokeless fuels. I understand the Cardiff plant has been very successful and the Board has decided to extend it, but at the other two engineering difficulties are delaying production.
