HC Deb 29 July 1966 vol 732 cc362-3W
Mr. Stodart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he has completed his consideration of the Prison (Scotland) Rules, 1952; and whether he proposes to amend Rule 37 and thus permit remission of sentence for good conduct to apply to prisoners serving sentences for contempt of court.

Mr. Ross

Yes. Amendments to the Prison (Scotland) Rules, 1952 and to the Young Offenders (Scotland) Rules, 1965, which will allow remission of sentence for good conduct to apply to prisoners and young offenders serving determinate sentences of more than 30 days for contempt of court, will be laid in draft shortly.
