§ 87. Mr. Powellasked the Secretary of State for Defence for what purposes the F111 aircraft being procured from the United States of America require the increased gross weight at take-off which is provided by the undercarriage of the FB111.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesThe FB111 undercarriage will confer greater operational flexibility and a greater degree of safety when operating at higher weights, for example on a long-range reconnaissance mission, particularly from less developed airfields.
