HC Deb 19 July 1966 vol 732 c42W
26. Mr. Channon

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what reply he has sent to the letter addressed to him by the Southend Borough Council asking him to refer the increase of charges by the Southend Waterworks Company to the National Board for Prices and Incomes.

55. Mr. Braine

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether in view of the increase of 28 per cent in charges for domestic water supplies and of 19 per cent. for metered supplies made by the Southend Waterworks Company on 1st July, he will now refer the matter to the National Board for Prices and Incomes.

Mr. MacColl

I am sending the hon. Members copies of a letter sent to the Southend Borough Council explaining why my right hon. Friend does not think it right to refer the increase to the Board.
