HC Deb 19 July 1966 vol 732 c42W
46. Mr. Eldon Griffiths

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he is aware of the large capital cost to the West Suffolk Water Board of building new works to supply water to the expanding towns in its area over the period 1966 to 1972 ; and what steps he proposes to take to enable this and other water authorities to finance these new undertakings without increasing the cost of water to local consumers.

Mr. MacColl

My right hon. Friend has received estimates of the Water Board's proposed expenditure for the period to 1972. He is willing to consider on its merits any claim for grant in respect of expenditure attributable to town development which is incurred by a local authority or water board.
