asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether rent officers will be allowed to attend and give evidence before rent assessment committees.

There are two sides to this question. In London both the Rent Assessment Committtee and the great majority of the Rent Officers disagree with my hon. Friend. Elsewhere it is too early to form a view.
