§ Mr. Grantasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what representations he has received from local authorities or other bodies concerning hardship suffered by property owners as a result of planning blight caused by comprehensive redevelopment proposals ; what steps he is taking to relieve this hardship ; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MacCollBlight is a problem inseparable from the forward planning of land use and my right hon. Friend has received various representations from time to time. Despite current restrictions on investment he is prepared to sanction loans to local authorities to enable them to buy blighted land in advance of need where hardship is fully demonstrated.
