Mr. Weatherillasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if, in view of the state of the economy, he will take steps by legislation or otherwise to prevent the Greater London Council from increasing its annual expenditure on information services during this financial year and to limit increases during future years.
§ Mr. MellishNo. This is a matter which Parliament has left to the discretion of the Council. I am sure that it will have full regard to the present state of the economy.
