HC Deb 18 July 1966 vol 732 c6W
63. Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what negotiations he will have with other Governments about the safeguards against the misuse of plutonium for military purposes required before the sale of nuclear power stations abroad.

Mr. George Thomson

Before the sale of nuclear power stations overseas, Her Majesty's Government will, as in the past, conclude inter-Governmental agreements to ensure by means of safeguards that all material and equipment obtained in connection with the sale, and any material derived from the use of such material and equipment, shall be employed solely for peaceful purposes.
