HC Deb 04 July 1966 vol 731 c15W
Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs how many visits have been made by Her Majesty's Consul to Stuart Christie, the British subject sentenced to 20 years' imprisonment by a Spanish military tribunal; and what information he received concerning his health, welfare and conditions of imprisonment.

Mr. George Thomson

There have been 25 visits by consular staff. Stuart Christie's health remains good and he has never complained about prison conditions. He receives money, food and books through Her Majesty's Consul. He is able to study for examinations, use the prison canteen and library, and watch television.
