asked the Minister without Portfolio if he will seek to amend the law demanding three years' desertion before a divorce can be granted, so as to reduce the period to one year for persons over 70 years of age.

No. I see no reason why the requirement of three years' desertion as a ground for divorce should depend on the age of the parties.
