Mr. Edward M. Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what estimate he has made of the cost of registering births, marriages and deaths in each of the past three years; and if he will provide separate figures in respect of each category of registration.
§ Mr. RossI regret that this information is not available since separate accounts are not kept for the various functions performed by registrars, which include the provision of extracts from the registers and, in certain cases, the conduct of civil marriages as well as the registration of births, deaths and marriages.
