HC Deb 04 August 1966 vol 733 c160W
Mr. Floud

asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs how many persons will be eligible to continue to receive, during the proposed wages standstill, regular increments of specified amounts within a predetermined range or scale, as set out in paragraph 18(iv) of the White Paper on Prices and Incomes Standstill, Command Paper No. 3073; what proportion of the total working population this represents; and which are the main industries, services and occupations in which such arrangements exist.

Mr. William Rodgers

I regret that precise information is not available about the number of persons on incremental salary scales. Such arrangements, in some cases based on age, are known to be widespread for non-manual workers, while additional payments based on length of service, are sometimes made to manual workers.
