asked the Minister of Health how many cases of leprosy are known to him at the present time; what was the corresponding number 15 years ago; in how many hospitals they are being treated; from which countries the present cases come; and if he will make a statement.

The number of cases on 27th May was 341 in England and Wales. Figures are not available for 1950. There are two special units for in-patients, but some patients may from time to time be admitted to other hospitals. Information is not available about the country of origin.
