§ Mr. Peter Walkerasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs into which category of exceptions to Her Majesty's Government's Incomes Policy, as outlined in paragraph 15 in the White Paper on Prices and Incomes Policy, the increase in salary of 6¼ per cent. awarded on 28th April, 1965, for 3,800 day workers at the Pressed Steel Company's car body factory at Cowley, comes.
§ Mr. George BrownIt is not for me, but for the parties concerned, to defend this settlement in relation to the policy set out in the White Paper, which has been agreed with representatives of management and unions.
