§ Mr. MacDermotThe total number of non-industrial civil servants in post at 1st April, 1964, excluding the Post Office, was 416,600, and the total number at 1st January, 1965, the most recent date for which figures are available, was 419,200. Including the Post Office the numbers were 692,200 and 697,600 respectively.
§ 38. Mr. Fellasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state the total cost in gross salaries of civil servants, established and unestablished, on 31st March, 1964, and at the latest date for which the figure is available.
