asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much has been paid out in Agricultural Improvement Grant in the three months to the latest convenient date; what proportion of this total has been for piggeries; and what proportion of the latter figure has been for buildings designed for the most intensive form of pig housing known as pig sweat-boxes.

In the United Kingdom during the three months ended 31st December, 1964, grants paid under the Farm Improvement Scheme totalled £2,795,646. Of this total 2.9 per cent. (£81,187) represented payments in respect of pi geries. No payments have been made for buildings designed as pig sweat-boxes.
