HC Deb 04 February 1965 vol 705 cc305-6W
41. Mr. Chichester-Clark

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what changes he proposes to seek to make to the Auctions (Bidding Agreements) Act, 1927.

Mr. George Thomas

The Act clearly prohibits auction rings, and my right hon. Friend cannot at present see how it could be amended so as to make enforcement more effective. Nevertheless, as I said during the Adjournment debate on 23rd December, my right hon. Friend will be very willing to consider any suggestions for amendment which may be put to him.
