§ The Prime MinisterMy right hon. Friend the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs is responsible for producing a national development plan in consultation with all concerned in industry, and is taking all measures to see that it is implemented. My right hon. Friend the Minister of Technology is directly responsible for technological advance and one aspect of this is his sponsorship of certain industries (including the electronics industry) which are closely associated with automation.
