§ Mr. Howeasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) what is the number of children receiving nursery education within the area of the Greater London Council and the types of schools, whether publicly or privately provided, at which such children are receiving nursery education;
(2) what proportion of children between the ages of two and five years within the area of the Greater London Council are receiving any kind of nursery education;
(3) whether he will state in the OFFICIAL REPORT, in respect of each educational authority within the area of the Greater London Council, the number of nursery schools maintained and assisted, respectively, by each such educational authority, the number of teaching staff employed, and the number 364W of pupils enrolled in each of the foregoing groups of nursery schools.

The latest statistics on nursery education are published in "Statistics of Education, 1964. Part One" (Tables 4, 6, 13 and 15) and in "Statistical Returns" 19 and 24, of which I am sending the hon. Member copies.
