§ 52. Mr. Ensorasked the Postmaster-General what representations he has received from the Association of Pay Television Operators about the contractors' licences; what answer he has made to them; and whether he expects the pay-television experiment to commence this autumn.
§ Mr. BennA deputation from the Association of Pay-Television Operators called upon me at their own request in order to represent their views on pay television. In answer, I undertook to note what they had said as a factor for consideration in the review the Government is conducting of the proposed pay television experiment. It is a condition of the licences, as granted by the previous administration, that the experiment shall start within twelve months of the date of their issue: that is to say, by October, 1965.
