asked the Minister of Health if he will publish in the Official Report the death rate per 100,000 for the removal of tonsils.

For hypertrophy of tonsils and adenoids, with tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy, the average annual death rate in Great Britain for the period 1960–64 was 0.03 per 100,000 population. Separate figures are not at present available for tonsillectomy alone, but deaths from this cause will constitute the majority of those included.
